Coaching for executives in transition
First Take provides a unique service for executives who are in transition, whether it is of their own free will or by necessity. Using skills honed in long years of experience of the media, we help clients develop a narrative about their careers and their future plans, making the most of their unique skills and experience and turning any potential negative aspects into positive assets. The key to success is to find the best possible language to describe an individual’s unique qualities. Our forensic approach leads clients to achieve this in the way that they present their CVs and perform in job interviews.
We take a brief from the client, with details of his or her CV. If clients are applying for a particular post, we research what will be required of them thoroughly. After a preliminary discussion with the client, we run an extensive practice interview, probing potential weaknesses and offering opportunities to demonstrate strengths. Having taped the practice interview, we replay it and analyse the responses. Depending on timescale and requirements, we repeat the exercise one or more times. Usually clients find it useful to come back for at least one follow-up session. Once we mutually decide that the client has robust answers for anything which might be asked, we work up a question and answer document as a reminder and also give the client a CV of his or her performance.
